It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications that we do not own or control, including Intuit services, which are governed by Intuit’s own terms and policies. When you authorize Alta App to connect with QuickBooks, we may receive information from Intuit through Intuit’s APIs. Depending on the features enabled, this may include company profile information, customers, vendors, employees, invoices, estimates, sales receipts, payments, deposits, bills, purchase orders, items, products, services, chart of accounts, tax information, classes, departments, attachments, reports, and other accounting or transaction records.
5. Information Collected Automatically
We may collect log data, device information, browser information, IP address, usage events, integration status, diagnostic data, error logs, and security telemetry. We use this information to operate, secure, improve, and troubleshoot the service.
6. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and maintain our website and Alta App, authenticate users, connect to QuickBooks, sync authorized data, perform requested workflows, generate reports or automations, personalize your experience, improve our website and services, provide customer support, and communicate with you about our services — including periodic emails, which you may unsubscribe from at any time using the instructions included at the bottom of each email. 7. QuickBooks Data Use Restrictions
We use QuickBooks data only to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the functionality you request within Alta App. We do not sell QuickBooks data. We do not use QuickBooks data for unrelated advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

Where required by law, we process personal information based on contract necessity, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligations, or other lawful bases. You may withdraw consent where our processing is based on consent, subject to legal or contractual limitations.

Unless a different period is required by law or contract, connected QuickBooks data will be deleted or de-identified within 60 days after a verified account deletion or written deletion request.

We regularly review and update our security practices as our services, technology, and business operations evolve. 15. Disconnecting QuickBooks
You may disconnect Alta App from QuickBooks through Alta App’s account settings, through your Intuit connected-app settings, or by contacting hello@altafinops.com. After disconnection, Alta App will stop retrieving new QuickBooks data. Previously stored data will be retained or deleted according to this Privacy Policy and your instructions.
16. Children
Alta App and our website are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we decide to change this Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page and update the effective date below. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law. You should check this page periodically to ensure you are aware of any updates.

19. Data Deletion and Account Closure
Users may request deletion of their Alta App account and connected QuickBooks data by emailing hello@altafinops.com. Some records may be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes. Retained records will remain protected and will not be used for ordinary product functionality.
Our process is:
User submits a deletion request with name, company name, account email, and QuickBooks company name if applicable.
Alta verifies the requester's identity and authority.
Application access is disabled or scheduled for closure.
Connected QuickBooks access tokens are revoked or deleted.
Customer data is deleted or de-identified within 60 days, unless retention is legally required.
The user receives confirmation when the deletion process is complete or scheduled.
20. Security and Data Handling
Alta is committed to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information processed through the website and Alta App. We maintain safeguards that are appropriate to the nature of our services and continue to evaluate and enhance our security practices as our platform and infrastructure evolve. Because Alta processes financial and business information, we recognize the importance of protecting sensitive data and are committed to maintaining safeguards appropriate to the information we process. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
